Keeping your cell phone or MP3 player charged when you’re traveling can be a hassle, especially when you’re in remote areas away from a convenient power point.
The Emergency Two Way Charger offers a potential solution for the gadget-laden traveler. It uses two AA batteries, alkaline or rechargeable, to charge phones, PDAs, MP3 players and similar devices, and can also , as its Two Way name suggests , charge rechargeable AA batteries.

The charger has a telescoping body, for easier storage, with a USB port. It comes with a connector cable and six mobile phone connector heads and basic but adequate instructions. The charger is very easy to use. You simply slide it open, put in the batteries and connect the cable to its USB port.
To charge a phone or other device, you connect it to the other end of the cable using the appropriate connector head and set the 'In/Out' switch to 'out' so current flows out of the charger. The indicator light glows green to show the unit is charging the phone. To charge AA batteries, you connect the charger via USB cable to a power source such as a computer, and set the switch to [in].
The indicator light glows red to show that the unit is charging the batteries. However, it doesn’t indicate when the batteries are fully charged, so you should follow the timing guide in the instructions to ensure you don’t overcharge the batteries.
For example, it recommends 14 hours to charge two 2100 mAh Ni-MH batteries.
